One week into our pilgrimage along the Trans Mountain oil pipeline and 367 miles later, we’ve arrived in Blue River, BC at the base of the Canadian Rockies. We traveled from Anacortes, Washington, to Sumas, crossed the border and landed in Hope, BC. Biked to Merit, BC and sat down with first nations community members, bike shop and business owners, and green party leaders. Next we toured Kamloops, BC by bicycle, and learned about the urban gardening, bicycle culture, the proposed Kamloops Ajax mine, and the status of the Trans Mountain pipeline now. After spending a night in Clearwater, BC and meeting and biking with Keith McNeil and Jean Nelson of the Clearwater Times, we arrived in Blue River last night. Here we are at breakfast this morning, getting ready for the trek to Valemount.
